This ties in with chapter 8 because John starts quoting Shakespeare like there is no tomorrow and poor Bernard doesn't understand a single word he is saying be cause of his conditioning. His conditioning has denied the right to know the power of carefully selected and spoken words, or like Shakespeare and John would say: "When Words Are Scarce They Are Seldom Spent In Vain"
